Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Insulator to join our team at CEC. In this position you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of fiberglass insulation. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to providing high-quality energy solutions for both commercial and residential buildings throughout the five boroughs of New York City and New Jersey.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, repair, and maintain fiberglass insulation for various components of boiler systems, including steam, return, hot and cold water pipes, and condenser tanks, in accordance with LL87 and LL97 regulations.

Measure and assess buildings for future insulation installation jobs, collaborating with the supervisor to plan and execute projects effectively.

Install, repair, and maintain piping systems, fixtures, valves.

Install door sweeps and weatherstrips to enhance energy efficiency in buildings.

Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.

Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Ideal Experience:

Understanding of various commercial boiler systems including steam and hydronic and vacuum.

Trade school diploma or completed apprenticeship.

Proficiency with tools like power drills, knives, hand tools, and epoxy application.

Extensive knowledge of commercial pipe types, sizes, and corresponding insulation, encompassing steam, return, hot and cold water, sewage, and electrical pipes.

Ability to measure, cut, and install insulation efficiently around pipes, walls, and ceilings.

Skill in securely fastening insulation using methods like tape, screws, staples, or fasteners.

Effective teaching and training skills for new team members.

Capability to transport tools and equipment to job sites.

Strict adherence to company and industry safety guidelines.

Valid plumbing license/certification issued by the State of New York.

Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and tools.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Valid driver's license and familiarity with NYC driving conditions.

Conversational Spanish is a plus
