We are seeking Diesel Mechanics for bus/trucks in our Ridgewood, Queens Service Hub.
Pay: Entry Level $26-$35/hr depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time; Must be able to work one of these shifts: Tues-Sat OR Sun-Thurs; 5am-2pm OR 1pm-10pm; 5 days a week, Weekends, Holidays as needed
Experience: 2-7 years experience as a Diesel Mechanic
Employee Requirements:
Electrical systems and electronics with solid troubleshooting technics A MUST.
Must be able to do all mechanical work, with diagnostics, can diagnose issues with buses, some electrical, can troubleshoot all issues, and do individual PMs. Understand the ratio between air and brakes and how to open up valves. Have a good understanding of airbrakes.
Background in automotive/truck & bus industry maintenance
Experience with industry-standard tools and equipment
Basic computer skills
Clear communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred ASE certification, EPA 608 certification
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Familiar with industry-standard tools and procedures for basic diagnostics and repair.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair based on standardized procedures.
Inspect equipment in detail for defects, and damage potential component failure areas.
Follow protocol and create an action plan to complete assigned tasks.
Follow all safety guidelines in compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, and state and federal DOT standards.
Log and input all work, inspections, and other maintenance data.
Assist coworkers as necessary.
Maintain a safe, organized workspace.
