Business Analyst/Data Analyst at a Leading NYC Hedge Fund

Location: Mostly Remote - Must be within commuting distance to be in the office when requested.

Compensation: TBD, This is a contract position. You will sign a consulting agreement and be paid a per diem rate.

Mazuma Software is a small technology consulting firm specializing in systems development for the hedge fund industry.

WE NEED YOU:

We are searching for the right candidate to join us at our primary client: a large, technologically progressive hedge fund in midtown Manhattan. We are looking to bring the right candidate on board to help deliver the highest quality software systems. This candidate will be a mid-level business analyst who has the ability to work independently and adapt to the environment as it evolves. This person will be the intermediary and driver between operation analysts and developers for the firm’s development team. They will also manage and provide end user remediation of existing software systems. The right candidate takes pride in his or her work and possesses excellent problem solving and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate with our third-party administrator, accounting, and operations teams to manage the month-end close process for the hedge fund and ventures businesses.

Ability to interact, communicate effectively with the business, developers, and management.

Deliver the highest quality technical solutions with efficient time-to-market.

Participate in full life-cycle software development.

Contribute ideas for new features and identify areas for improvement proactively.

Collaborate effectively across teams, including outside of engineering.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Accounting background

Operations background

Strong documentation experience

Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with complex multi-faceted issues.

Strong aptitude for undertaking new initiatives for process improvements and workflow simplification.

Designing workflows and gathering business requirements.

Needs to be comfortable with Microsoft office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, Share point.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

Experience working with/for hedge funds, private equity funds, hedge fund technology vendors, hedge fund administrators and/or prime brokers.

Wall Street Office knowledge

Investran knowledge

Bloomberg and other data provider integration experience
