The Backend Software Engineer will focus on building consumer-facing web and mobile applications. The ideal Software Engineer candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience using Ruby and relational databases, most notably PostgreSQL.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:Work closely with our web and mobile developers on the implementation of new product featuresCollaborate on API design and architecture decisionsDiagnose and troubleshoot backend issues in productionMaintain integrations with external services, such as Stripe, and our local partnersUpdate and maintain existing API functionality

Qualifications:5+ years experience shipping and supporting high-scale, high-performance web applications in a cloud environmentAt least 3 years of professional experience programming in Ruby, ideally supporting Rails ApplicationsExperience with building RESTful API endpointsHave a practical understanding of SOLID principlesExperience with the latest web technologies, tools and practices; experience with more than one server-side technologyExpertise in HTTP, web application architecture, scalability, performance optimization, reliability, deployment, monitoring, securityExperience with Agile squads and processes
