Luxury Building - Non-Union in the Upper East Side Manhattan
This is a full-time hourly position to start immediately.
Requirements:
Proper etiquette – successful doormen are polite and friendly, making people feel at ease right away. They greet everyone who comes in, and they use interpersonal sensitivity to proactively offer their services when needed.
Be well spoken – excellent customer experience, doorman answer inquiries thoroughly and accommodate requests while remaining firm about rules and policies.
Physical stamina – because this job requires standing for several hours regardless of the weather, physical stamina is vital. Doorman also sometimes carry heavy bags for guests.
Appearance – neat, clean well-groomed appearance. Must be comfortable to work using uniform.
Attention to detail – being observant is a key characteristic of doormen, since they monitor deliveries, building premises, and everybody coming in. Beyond safety concerns remembering details helps them connect better with people, especially residents or recurring guests.
Keep the lobby area and front of the building clean.
Support day to day administrative work and other duties as necessary.
Flexible schedule is a must including holidays, nights and weekends.
1 year of related position experience within a hotel or luxurious building preferred.
