Art to Ware (www.arttoware.com), a sustainable fashion startup, is seeking a dedicated and visionary manager to join our team. As the manager, you will work closely with the Founder and General Manager to oversee operations at our Port Authority store location and support the business more broadly, including our store location in the Oculus and our online store. Our mission is to revolutionize the fashion industry by upcycling and reworking clothes into unique wearable art, utilizing existing resources to minimize waste. Since our establishment in 2021, Art to Ware has operated in multiple storefronts across New York City, including the West Village, Chelsea, Port Authority, and The Oculus.
Responsibilities:
-Collaborate with the Founder to co-create and execute the overall marketing strategy, driving brand awareness and attracting a wider customer base.
-Manage and lead a small team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a productive and cohesive work environment.
-Establish and enforce store policies, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer service.
-Develop and maintain a comprehensive store calendar, and strategically timed promotions for holiday sales and other retail cycles.
-Devise innovative ways to effectively promote the store, designer collections, and the overall shopping experience.
-Collaborate with the founder to manage costs and maintain profitability.
-Uphold store cleanliness and visual presentation standards, ensuring a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for customers.
-Recruit and co-train new team members as required, ensuring sufficient staffing levels to deliver exceptional customer service.
-Oversee and organize monthly events within the stores, fostering engagement and enhancing the customer experience.
Requirements:
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in a creative retail environment.
-Passion and interest in sustainable fashion and textiles.
-Proven track record in sales, with a focus on driving revenue growth and customer engagement. .
-Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with a diverse customer base.
-Proficiency in basic business software programs, including Square.
-Degree in fashion, business, or related fields is preferred.
This is a part-time position, with a 3 month probation period, requiring three days of in-store work.
