Full Time Dog Trainer/Groomer
Starting pay range:$16.50 - $22.50/hr (depending on position and experience)
Job Description:
Provide full-service grooming including bathing, drying, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland expression, following breed standards and pet parent instructions.
Ensure pet safety and comfort by monitoring for signs of stress, illness, or injury, and reporting concerns to pet parents and management.
Deliver excellent customer service by communicating professionally, addressing grooming-related questions, and offering personalized care and product recommendations.
Maintain a clean and sanitary salon by disinfecting tools, cleaning work areas, and following all hygiene protocols.
Support team operations by mentoring grooming trainees when needed and upholding company grooming standards and procedures.
Qualifications
Professional grooming experience through completion of Petco’s Stylist Apprentice Program, a technical grooming school, or prior hands-on grooming work. (Paid Training Available)
Strong grooming expertise, including breed-specific cuts, styling techniques, and knowledge of dog breeds, behaviors, and common health concerns.
Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with pet parents and team members effectively.
Physically capable and flexible, able to handle pets of all sizes with care, and available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
