Position Reports To: Vice President

We are actively seeking a Property Controller with commercial real estate experience in, ideally, New York City office. The successful candidate will be responsible for all financial functions of multiple office buildings and have experience working with an outsourced property management accounting/finance team. This position will report directly to the Vice President.

Responsible for all aspects of financial control including financial reporting, management, analysis and identification of potential issues

Oversight of all accounting including maintaining general ledger, annual CAM reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, and variance analyses

Coordinate monthly and quarterly closing processes to certify that proper procedures and controls are in place, ensuring accurate and timely reporting

Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operating efficiencies

Oversee and coordinate the end of year and auditing process

Effectively communicate with senior management in a highly accurate and timely manner, taking ownership of the financial responsibilities under each asset

Maintain and review internal controls, as well as make recommendations regarding operations, accounting, and reporting issues to discuss with management

Coordination with outsourced third-party management property management teams on daily/monthly deliverables

Assist and support junior team members with any technical issues that arise

Strong communication skills

Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see tasks through to completion

Ability to prioritise and organize time to manage deadlines

BS/BA degree in Accounting

5+ years in accounting/real estate experience

Experience with Yardi

Experience with Nexus Payables
