Project Manager & Building Code Specialist for a Construction Consulta

We have been providing comprehensive construction consulting since 1987. Our team performs code and zoning review and facilitates all municipal requirements from pre-construction to project completion.

We assist property and business owners, real estate developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and managing agents by advising about City regulations and how to maintain compliance.

We are currently hiring a full-time Project Manager who possesses strong working knowledge of the Building Code and NYC Zoning Resolution. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is a punctual, reliable, team player with a good work ethic and who enjoys a rewarding and fast-paced work environment.

Primary Responsibilities (include the following, but are not limited to):

Must have a strong working knowledge of the suite of NYC construction codes and NYC Zoning Resolution.

Perform code/zoning consultation, including preparation of reports and analysis.

Prepare CCD and ZRD applications for code and zoning variances.

Review Plans for completeness.

Develop filing strategies for all types of projects.

Coordinate the preparation of filing formwork.

Coordinate C.O. signoffs; attend field meetings, mock inspections and construction inspections.

Meet with DOB Staff when needed for large-scale projects.

Manage Assistant Project Managers and Field Staff to be sure projects are on track.

Key requirements:

Must be a Class 2 filing representative.

Proficient with DOB on-line systems (BIS, DOB Now and E-filing)

Understanding of DOB project filing techniques and strategies including HUB filings in order to determine permit and signoff requirements

Ability to effectively work with clients

Ability to communicate problems with staff if they occur

Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Coordinate and track the progress of the tasks with staff expediters.
