We are currently seeking a DOT Permit Manager to join our construction consulting firm in Midtown, Manhattan. This position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team and utilize their construction expertise on interesting and challenging projects.
DOT Project Manager List of Primary Responsibilities (not limited to):
Lead and coordinate effort to procure construction permits from the NYC Department of Transportation
Meet with construction professionals to determine scoping documents and proposals
Coordinate with RPO staff to procure construction permits
Develop and draft traffic mitigation plans for complexed construction sites, including staging, major equipment, pedestrian and vehicular safety
Survey construction sites in support of developing plans, including both on site visits and using digital mapping tools
Represent construction projects and serve as point of contact to the NYC Department of Transportation and other NYC agencies
Attend meetings with NYC Officials to negotiate optimal permit stipulations
Assist RPO attorney in the resolution of construction violations as needed
Manage all active construction permits, ensuring timely renewals of permit and coordinate with contractors to update insurances with the NYC Department of Transportation
Maintain company database of active permits, proactively renew permits as needed;
Maintain client contact throughout project to advise on NYC work embargoes which effect work site(s);
Attend continuing education seminars and other work events.
Experience Required:
Minimum five (5) years field experience on major construction sites in NYC
Proficient in CAD software (AutoDesk preferred)
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Background in civil engineering a plus
Direct experience with NYC construction permitting a plus
