Have you or someone close to you experienced addiction, recovery, or incarceration? Use that lived experience to help others find hope and direction!

Our client is hiring Peer Recovery Specialists to support individuals and families navigating substance use recovery and reintegration. This is not about clinical experience—this is about real people supporting real people. We’re looking for individuals who have been through it and want to give back.

Lived Experience Is Required

You must have firsthand experience with recovery—either personally or through a very close loved one (parent, child, sibling, best friend). Examples of qualifying experiences include:

-Experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity

-Participating in or leading recovery meetings (AA, NA, etc.)

-Supporting a loved one through detox, rehab, or relapse

-Being involved with CPS, family court, or legal systems due to substance use

-Personal or close experience with incarceration (preferred but not required)

This role involves self-disclosure of your experience when appropriate—your story can help someone else feel seen. Comfort with openness and honesty is essential.

What You’ll Do:

-Build one-on-one relationships with people in recovery

-Help participants set recovery goals and take steps toward them

-Support with housing, benefits, transportation, and legal aid

-Facilitate or co-lead small groups focused on wellness and healing

-Advocate for individuals and help them access needed services

-Work across Westchester and Putnam Counties, meeting people where they are

Requirements:

-Personal or closely connected experience with recovery

-High school diploma or GED (college is a plus, not a must)

-Peer support or advocacy experience is a plus

-Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally

-A strong desire to walk beside—not ahead of—those in recovery

Individuals in recovery, justice-involved applicants, and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Shifts:

-Tuesday–Saturday (Tues: 11am–7pm, Wed–Sat: 9am–5pm) OR

-Monday–Friday (9am–5pm)

Pay: $23.45–$25.00/hour
