Social Worker

Academic Leadership Charter School, is seeking a social worker to help meet our goal of providing a nurturing environment for students to succeed and exceed academic goals.

The ideal candidate will use bibliotherapy to help students meet their social emotional needs and improve academic outcomes. We are looking for a team player who will work alongside our teachers and administrators to help our students succeed.

Responsibilities: Functions as a liaison between the family and the school regarding the child’s educational needs and social-emotional progress

- Provides intervention for students who are in need of crisis management and services, including those with IEPs

- Work with the school’s IEP Coordinator to implement and track services for students

- Plan and provide high quality counseling services to students in groups and whole class settings via bibliotherapy and character education lessons.

- Write session notes, progress reports, and goals for students

- Employ story books and trade books to improve social emotional and academic outcomes

- Collaborates with school staff members in efforts to alleviate identified factors impacting student performance

- Facilitate after school clubs to further engage students in team building and other interests

- Provide professional development to teachers and staff with strategies and interventions for students

- Diligently work to align social, emotional, and behavioral supports with educational outcomes

- Identifies and forms relationships with community organizations to assist families with necessary services

- Provide family outreach and crisis support

- Regularly communicate with parents, teachers, and other staff to provide coordinated support

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or with related credits

Master's degree preferred
