Grants and Compliance Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Ensuring compliance with government grant awards by interpreting fiscal requirements to the organizations network of affiliates and by compiling and preparing fiscal reports. The incumbent is also responsible for collecting and monitoring grant vouchers and for supervising the collection of travel loans.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Federal Grants Disbursements and analysis
Maintenance and consolidation of the organizations network financial reports
General Ledger management of the Miami, Wichita offices and Travel Loan dept.
Federal Grants Quarterly reports submissions and reimbursements
General Grants Management and Compliance
Supervision and leadership
Financial monitoring, webinars on risks assessments and internal procedures.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the Controller's Office, this position is accountable for ensuring that the program remains in compliance with federal grant reporting requirements, for exploring methods to improve the quality of reports, and for interpreting and improving the reporting procedures of affiliates. It accounts for income received, collects grants awarded, and allocates receipts and expenses to appropriate accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of five years of accounting experience is preferred.
Five years of working knowledge in an administrative capacity
Supervisory experience skills
Previous experience working with federal grant awards required, preferably in the resettlement field.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively and productively with government agencies.
Computer fluency:
Blackbaud Financial Edge or other accounting software.
- Excel Spreadsheet, database and word-processing applications
- Electronic banking applications
Negotiation skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
The ability to work collegially and independently.
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business management.
A minimum of five years of accounting experience is preferred.
Five years of working in an administrative capacity
Supervisory experience skills
Experience with Non-profit accounting is necessary.
