Housing Coordinator - 7 openings
Department: Transitional Housing
Salary: $26.90/hour - 27.00/hr
Key Responsibilities
Guide families through the housing application process and explain housing subsidy programs.
Develop and maintain relationships with landlords and brokers to secure housing opportunities.
Maintain an up-to-date roster of real estate contacts.
Vet potential housing options to ensure client readiness and program compliance.
Arrange and attend apartment viewings and landlord interviews.
Escort clients to housing-related appointments.
Track housing referrals, follow up with clients, and communicate with housing leads.
Work closely with Case Managers to develop permanent housing strategies and advocate for supportive housing when applicable.
Maintain up-to-date case notes in CARES and ensure housing documentation is filed appropriately.
Must be available some evenings and weekends for apartment viewings and lease signings.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience working in NYC’s housing market.
Strong knowledge of housing subsidies, supportive housing, and entitlement programs.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers and landlords.
Experience working with at-risk or homeless families.
Familiarity with strength-based case management, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment.
Computer literacy required; knowledge of CARES a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
