1) Ability and willingness to climb stairs and carry supplies and equipment up and down 3

levels, in the event the elevator is out of order.

2) Ability and willingness to thoroughly sweep, dust, organize, and clean.

3) Ability and willingness to take directions from the supervisors and work productively both

independently and cooperatively with other staff, community volunteers, and church

members and leaders.

4) Willingness to use work time wisely and productively and to look for work that needs to be

done or ask a supervisor.

5) Make recommendations to supervisor for improvements, needs, and communicate issues

arising during work period.

6) Follow rules, policies, procedures, and directions. Clarify necessary matters with supervisor

or in staff meetings.

7) Participate in staff assessment and evaluation process as requested.

8) Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts on nights, weekends, and religious

holidays, as needed.

9) Willingness to take on additional shifts for snow/ice removal or other emergency work, as

needed.

10) Have the capability and willingness to lift and carry full and heavy garbage bags. Ability

and willingness to lift and move large full water bottles, cases of food, bags of produce,

furniture, movable platforms, etc. Ability and willingness to climb ladders up to 25 ft.

11) Ability to run or willingness to learn the following equipment: Fire extinguisher, snow

blower, vacuum cleaner, etc.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

1) Set up rooms for meetings as directed.

2) Keep outside street and sidewalk area clean and safe on a year-round basis.

3) Put out trash and recycling as prescribed and scheduled.

4) Put away deliveries as they arrive and as directed.

5) Take careful and thorough messages for those not on the premises and deliver in the manner

specified.

6) Attend staff meetings as called.

7) Report in a timely way on an Incident Report Form an occurrence requiring attention.

8) Follow procedures carefully review all work checklists when opening or closing the

building.

9) Other duties as assigned.
