We are a multifaceted woodshop, currently located in Manhattan NY, but in search for a dedicated production facility in the area. We primarily produce furniture and millwork to support Happy Medium’s Art Cafe, Pottery, Large Canvas offerings, as well as custom internal and commissioned work. We also prepare and host the Happy Medium’s Build-a-Chair event, where customers can join us and construct one of the Happy Medium’s furniture designs. The H.M. Woodshop is in search of a motivated and friendly individual who would enjoy being a part of a team and helping us grow and develop a burgeoning woodshop. A successful candidate will have a broad range of hands-on experience and a passion for making. Along with working to accomplish weekly production goals, candidates will help maintain a safe and clean shop, receive deliveries, prepare material for events, essentially assisting in all aspects of shop operation.
The right candidate will:
Have 2-3 years of professional woodworking experience
Be able to read drawings and work through production steps and complete construction with minimal supervision
Be able to operate tools safely and in an efficient manner
Table saw, Router, Track Saw, Jig Saw, Rotary sander, Pantorouter etc.
Learn and Help develop production standards and methodologies
Have the ability and interest to pick up tasks and responsibilities, looking to grow their skills and position
Be able to develop relationships with vendors and construction professionals to ensure project progress and efficiency
Maintain a professional and fun work environment
Good communication skills
Open to feedback and direction, as well as able to provide constructive criticism (identify opportunities for improvement)
