Work Schedule:

1st Shift: - 6:00am to 2:30pm

2nd Shift: 12:00pm to 8:30pm

Duration: Temp to hire

Location: Jamaica, NY

Start: ASAP

Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day Kitchen operations and culinary team in an assigned area.

Execute daily food service, quality, technique, portion, presentation, and food cost control.

Examine the freshness of ingredients and participate in food tastings.

Standardize Production Recipes to ensure consistent quality.

Ensure there are no shortages or discrepancies in products or ingredients and inform the Executive Chef accordingly.

Maintain culinary excellence standards.

Receive, store, and assemble equipment and supplies according to airline specifications.

Ensure the exact amount of equipment and beverage is always accurately packed and ready for each flight.

Ensure all stocks received and replenishments are documented properly.

Inspect all chinaware, silverware, plasticware and all equipment used daily and verify each flight before trolleys are sealed.

Comply with hygiene, quality, and safety standards always.

Prepare correct paperwork for the Equipment and Beverage packing according to company guidelines.

Accomplish goals and objectives while adhering to food safety regulations.

Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook.

Report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 6 months of logistics/warehouse experience preferred for Packer position.

Minimum of 1 year of line cook experience required for Cook position.

Proactive and self-organized.

Ability to manage through a substantial workload.

Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.

Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.

Flexibility (different shifts –days, nights, weekends, holidays).

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
