Position: We are seeking a Designer Assistant Intern to work directly with Orlando Palacios, our head designer and master hatmaker, at our flagship store and atelier on the Bowery, for the upcoming fall season. This is a rare opportunity to learn the art of hatmaking from a true artisan and gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with sewing, draping, cutting, and design tasks
- Contribute to the development of patterns
- Support the team during the production process
- Collaborate on creative ideas for the collection
Requirements:
- Skills in sewing, draping, design, and pattern making
- Strong attention to detail and passion for craftsmanship
- Enthusiasm for fashion and sustainable design
Details:
Internship duration: 3-6 months, available Monday to Wednesday
Hours: 10 AM to 6 PM
Compensation: Transportation (monthly metro card) and lunch provided
Available for school credit
