Must love Bridal and creating Red Carpet worthy looks! Our studio specializes in customizing wedding dresses and repurposing vintage and antique wedding dresses. We also design and manufacture a line of bridal accessories and cover ups all handmade in our Brooklyn studio.
This job works well as an entry level job for Bridal and Special Occasion majors, soft accessories specialists or costume design and construction majors. You get to handle every type and style of gown, see how they are constructed and learn to pin a fitting on real humans. If you have sewing and pattern making skills we will put those to use as well.
The duties of our stylist assistant include:
keeping fitting rooms clean and equipped
greeting clients and helping brides dress
assisting stylists in pinning dresses
styling brides by helping brides choose accessories from our large collection
sourcing and shopping for bridal accessories for our 2 retail and online stores
photographing fittings
making reels about fittings and accessories and posting on IG and TikTok
The desired skills include:
A degree in fashion or costume design and/or construction or equivalent professional experience
well organized and able to multi task
familiar with Microsoft suite or google drive on mac computers
cool under pressure
excellent customer service
ability to make every fitting a party!
Please let us know if you have experience:
good basic hand and machine sewing skills
social media posting experience a plus
setting up an Etsy or Shopify store
retail or customer service experience preferred
This job can be full or part time and is in person. We require working most Saturdays. Interns start at $15. Experienced assistant start at $18.
