Position Summary
This is a Brand Ambassador/Sales Marketer position at nonprofit People of Color in Dental (PoC in Dental), in-person in New York City. Your primary responsibilities follow:
Communications Outreach: Ambassador/Marketer is dedicated to developing relationships through online outreach and face-to-face interaction with dental practice owners, dentists and interdisciplinary staff, and dental service organization (DSO) professionals.
- E.g. passing out flyers, running digital ads
You will hold responsibility for visiting dental practices throughout New York City and sharing information on PoC in Dental programming and events in order to generate new membership, partnerships, and sponsorships.
You will work with the Chief of Staff and President to develop, implement, and coordinate a dental practice outreach and marketing plan to increase organizational membership and support.
You will be assigned to hold responsibility for a geographical territory encompassing New York City within defined territories. They will facilitate relationships with dental practice owners, dentists and interdisciplinary staff, and DSO professionals via direct communication.
You may also be hired seperately for tech startup, DentalFynd, with ability to own part of the company if nonprofit work goes well.
Qualifications
Must be located in the New York City area and capable of navigating neighborhoods.
Must have professional experience in marketing and/or sales.
Knowledge of dentistry and the New York City dental landscape is helpful.
Personal initiative, self-starter, poise, confidence, and diligence.
Ability to plan, organize, and manage resources within strict timelines.
Must be articulate in oral and written communication, possess superior time management and organizational skills, and be client- and results-oriented.
Ability to manage sensitive information with integrity.
Plus: Passion for advancing programming that empowers underrepresented populations.
Education and Experience
Undergraduate internship experience and/or post-undergraduate work experience in sales, communications, marketing, public relations, and/or a related field.
Bachelor's Degree or coursework towards Bachelor's Degree a plus;

About People of Color in Dental
People of Color in Dental (PoC in Dental) is a new nonprofit organization that serves to connect clinical and non-clinical dental professionals of color and allies; share resources and support; and foster diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging in dentistry. Together, the team works to enhance the field and advance oral health equity for and with underrepresented populations. As the organization expands, the team is recruiting a Brand Ambassador/Sales Marketer.
Other Position Duties
You will cross-functionally collaborate with departmental team members as needed.
You will participate in internal 1:1 virtual meetings as needed.
Other Position Responsibilities
Present, persuade, provide follow-up, and actively listen.
Work directly with the Chief of Staff and President to understand needs and troubleshoot.
Responsible for directly contacting New York City-based dental practices and will spend approximately 90% of their time in the field working independently to share information on programming and events in order to generate new membership, partnerships, and sponsorships.
Develop and maintain a database spreadsheet of dental practices and contacts relative to demographics, referral trends, and details as appropriate.
