A busy Brooklyn law firm is seeking to fill multiple associate attorney positions to handle its daily calendars in court and arbitration and draft motion papers. Although the job requires on site presence in the office, all court and arbitration matters are conducted virtually.
Candidates are expected to review and prepare matters filed in the New York City Civil Courts and with the American Arbitration Association, appear at (virtual) hearings, and handle any appeals, if necessary. Additionally, candidates will draft motions and discovery responses.
A potential candidate must have a strong work ethic, argument and writing skills, ability to multitask, independently meet multiple deadlines, and be a team player.
Our firm specializes in No Fault Litigation and Arbitration, representing medical providers against insurance carriers with respect to their unpaid claims. We meet all of our clients' professional needs, such as representation at Examinations Under Oath, defending complaints filed with the Department of Financial Services, and appeals with courts of higher appellate jurisdiction.
All candidates must currently be licensed and admitted in New York.
Associate position responsibilities include:
- (virtually) attending multiple court and arbitration hearings
- researching caselaw and arbitration awards to aid in preparation for the upcoming hearings.
- drafting pleadings, oppositions to various motions such as discovery and motions for summary judgment.
- drafting appellate papers.
Applicant should have the ability to handle a high case load. An ideal candidate should possess strong:
- writing skills
- oral advocacy and communication skills
- organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines.
