The Role
A family is seeking a detail-oriented part-time Housekeeper to provide high-level cleaning and organization, in her residence. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the home, caring for fine furnishings. Responsibilities include housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, laundering delicate garments, and organizing closets and wardrobes. The Housekeeper will also assist with shopping, and unpacking deliveries. The right candidate will be discreet. They will understand the need for calm and quiet in the home, but present with a positive and friendly manner.
Job Title: Part-Time Live-Out Housekeeper
Reporting to: The Principal
Start: ASAP
Location: Loft apartment in the SoHo area of Manhattan, NYC
Schedule: 2 days per week; must be either Wednesdays, Fridays, or Sundays (although preferred days are Fridays and Sundays, if possible)
Hours: Wednesdays/Fridays 8am-2pm; Sundays 9am-3pm (flexibility to occasionally work until 5pm if needed would be appreciated)
Salary: $45/hour; this role will be as a 1099 contractor; (minimum of 12 hours paid per week will be guaranteed for weeks worked when the principal is in-residence)
The Family: Mother with three children (the youngest of which is 13 years old)
The Staff: A second part-time housekeeper that works the other days of the week
Pets: might get a dog next year (in which case, helping to feed and walk the dog may be an added responsibility)

Household Cleaning
Ensuring all aspects of the property are maintained and cleaned; to include fine furnishings and finishes
Liaising with the other Housekeeper; reporting damages and concerns
Full household organizing and restocking to include the kitchen and bathrooms, maintaining inventory
Supplies
Ordering and shopping for supplies and toiletries as needed
Filing receipts efficiently for the petty cash
Maintaining household inventory
Deliveries
Unpacking and putting away household deliveries
Organizing returns as needed
Laundry & Clothing Care
Managing all the laundry, hand washing, and ironing /steaming, and dry-cleaning drop offs/ collections
Knowledge of garments care including delicate and personal items, as well as towels and linens
Organizing the wardrobes and closets, keeping them neat
Family Assistance
Monitoring deliveries, mail, and arranging returns/ junk
Assisting with packing/unpacking for their travels
Preparing living spaces to the principals’ specifications for their or guest arrival
Light meal prep
Assisting if needed during events and family gatherings
Requirements
Must be legally able to work within the United States
Proven similar work experience for a high-net-worth private residence (at least three years)
Experience must include caring for high-end materials and laundering delicate fabrics
English proficiency (read, write, and speak)
Happy to undergo a criminal background check

Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
