Job description

Seeking NY based experienced Locksmith to perform skilled journey-level locksmith work in the installation, adjustment, maintenance, repair, and replacement of all types of locks, integrated security systems, access control devices and miscellaneous lock hardware (latches, door checks, panic bars, lock combinations, key making).

Job Duties

● Install all types of locks, integrated security systems, access control devices and lock hardware, performing the carpentry necessary for such installation.

● Install and maintain electrical access and exit control systems.

● Adjust, maintain, repair, and replace door locks, padlocks, tumbler locks, combination locks, and various other lock hardware such as panic bars, door checks, latches, catches, fasteners, and door closures.

● Design master key systems which include sub-master and single keys and maintain records.

● Operate key-cutting machines.

● Change lock combinations using code systems and code machines.

● Open or remove locks which cannot be opened by ordinary means.

● Safely operate hand power tools and equipment used in the locksmithing trade. May use a lathe, drill press, and other power tools in forming parts for locks, lock hardware, and/or safes.

Qualifications & Target Requirements

MUST HAVE NY STATE LOCKSMITH LICENSE

Locksmith experience (residential or commercial). Ideal candidates will bring Locksmith experience (2+ years) in either commercial or residential spaces. Training to be provided across any gap areas, providing candidates bring a fundamental level of experience.

Experience with integrated security systems, electronic keys, and access control devices.

Exposure to relevant practices, materials, hand, and power tools used in the locksmithing and related trades.

Basic knowledge and understanding of properties, adaptability, and uses of various metals, wood, and other locksmithing trade materials.

Understanding of safety and health regulations pertinent to the locksmithing trade.

Exposure to computer software or platforms used across the industry.

Basic data collection and record keeping skills.

Any exposure to the carpentry tools required for lock and panic bar installation.

Any experience or ability to diagnose repair needs by sound and "feel" of the movement of internal parts.

Follow oral and written instructions and bring a willingness to learn.

Work effectively and cooperatively with peer site staff and building tenant populations.

Schedule

● The company is 24/7, with the priority of employing experienced industry talent.

● Options exist for FULL TIME (FT) shifts (9am - 9pm), with the after hours (post 5pm) providing increased compensation incentive(s). FT employees will receive a company cell phone, tools, and access to a company vehicle.

Location

● The company is virtual (no brick and mortar location), so the role is field work and/or remote in nature.

● Candidates to be based in New York City (any of the five boroughs) or Westchester County.
