Greenery NYC, a Brooklyn-based botanical design and installation company, is looking for a full time studio and production assistant. The studio and production assistant plays a vital role in supporting our studio operation and production processes. This is a great entry-level position at a fast-growing company for someone who loves plants, is eager to learn from an experienced horticulture and production team and enjoys working with their hands.
Job Title: Studio & Production Assistant
Reports to: Project Manager
Rate: $24/hour
Essential Functions:
Receiving plant and material deliveries
Organizing inventory, materials, and supplies; including studio reorganization projects
Assisting in the assembly of shelving, carts and other similar units
Breaking down boxes, disposing of excess materials, etc on a daily basis
Organizing and taking out trash and recycling in accordance with pickup schedule
Assisting in keeping studio tidy; sweeping & cleaning shared spaces such as kitchen, restrooms and break area
Occasional off-site warehouse/storage cleanup and organization
Assisting in the planting & organizing of outbound production installations as needed
Requirements:
Proactive, hard-working, and punctual
Organized with good time management skills
Willingness and ability to learn
Must be energetic, motivated, hardworking, honest, reliable, responsible and love working with plants
Physical Demands:
Most work tasks are performed in a space where the environmental conditions vary widely.
Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours per day.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the property or other areas on a timely basis.
Must be able to lift 35 lbs +
Must be able to move items weighing in excess of 50 lbs. routinely.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to perform daily tasks.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Must be able to work well under pressure managing multiple deadlines.
