Handyman/Maintenance Assistant – Brooklyn Residential Property

DC Capital Management Group is seeking a handyman/maintenance assistant to join our team at a union-affiliated (32BJ) residential property in Brooklyn. This role supports the Superintendent in ensuring the seamless upkeep and maintenance of the building. If you have experience in property maintenance and take pride in delivering high-quality service, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

- Assist the Superintendent with daily maintenance tasks, including:

- Minor plumbing repairs (leaks, clogged drains, fixture replacements).

- Basic electrical repairs (light fixtures, outlets, switches).

- Carpentry tasks (patching drywall, repairing doors/windows).

- Painting and general upkeep.

- Appliance troubleshooting and minor repairs.

- Common area cleaning, trash disposal, and seasonal maintenance (snow removal, landscaping).

- Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.

- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently.

- Maintain records of repairs, supplies, and completed work orders.

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes.

- Assist with apartment turnovers (painting, minor repairs, cleaning).

- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years of experience in property maintenance or a related trade.

- Strong skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.

- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

-Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

- Must be a Brooklyn resident.

- Must lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certifications in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.

- Experience with building management
