Job description

Job Summary:

The Assistant Facility Technician supports a wide variety of monitoring. practical and custodial duties to create and maintain a high level of function, safety, cleanliness, and efficiency for the school community. The roll will also assist with event set up, maintenance and upkeep of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) in and around the facility. The Assistant Facilities Technician will perform work details, work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment

- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on building systems

- Repair or replace broken equipment, fixtures, or structures

- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff

- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years maintenance experience. Some knowledge of health & safety regulations as they related to the operation of equipment and safe use of tools and products.

Requirements:

- Ability to understand written and verbal communications.

- Ability to prioritize work tasks and work with minimum supervision.

- Ability to work alone and in a team situation to archive specified standards.

- Flexible and able to adapt to changing demands of the position.

- Ability to fulfill overtime responsibilities on a roster basis, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Demands:

The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, able to lift 50 lbs., able to carry 20lbs., mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
