Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Dog Walker to join our team. This role involves supervising, walking, and caring for dogs of various sizes and breeds. The ideal candidate will be someone who loves dogs and enjoys working outdoors, regardless of the weather. To start, you will also be helping to find new clients. Hours to begin with be 1 or 2 hours per day and will grow as your dog route grows. Also, opportunities to make money on the weekends. Living near to the UES is a definitely bonus as their will be last minute calls for walks.
Responsibilities:
Walk dogs on their scheduled routes and times.
Ensure the safety and well-being of each dog under your care.
Maintain control and provide basic training during walks, such as leash training and obedience.
Pick up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste appropriately.
Monitor for signs of distress, disease, or injury in dogs and report any health concerns.
Manage and update the dog walking schedule and client records.
Provide regular updates to pet owners about their dog's walking session and behavior.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Dog Walker or Pet Sitter (preferred).
Knowledge of basic dog training techniques.
Ability to handle dogs of different sizes and breeds safely and comfortably.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
High school diploma or equivalent.
A background check may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk and control dogs of various sizes and energies for extended periods.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
