Classic Harbor Line is hiring a dock crew member!
Classic Harbor Line is a luxury yacht company operating commercial vessels out of Pier 62, Chelsea Piers. We are preparing for our busy summer cruise season. We are looking for someone who is hardworking, ready to show up on time, and open to learning basic maritime skills. This person must be OK with working partially outdoors, and physically able to tie a knot in a dock line. We can train someone with minimal boat experience who has the right attitude and willingness to learn about boats and the maritime industry. The person to fill this position must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) since this is a safety sensitive, transportation based position.
The specific shifts that we're hiring one person for are: Mondays, Tuesdays and every other Saturday. Approx. 25 hours a week. Each shift is on average 8-10 hours. Our starting pay is $16, plus the opportunity to make on average $25+ in cash per shift for helping the boat crews run trash and clean tables between boat trips. If the person we hire works for at least 3 months, they may be eligible for more benefits and higher pay. Ideally, we are looking to hire someone who can at least work through the summer, but there will still be work available through Jan 1st.
