Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Nursery Laborer to join our team at Amodio's. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks related to the care, maintenance, and handling of plants, as well as assisting with general nursery operations. You will play a key role in ensuring the health of plants, the cleanliness of the nursery, and the smooth operation of daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Planting, transplanting, and potting a variety of plants, trees, and flowers.
Watering, fertilizing, and maintaining plants to ensure their health and growth.
Pruning and trimming plants as needed.
Maintaining a clean and organized nursery by sweeping, raking, and disposing of plant debris.
Loading and unloading plants and supplies.
Assisting with customer service, including helping customers select plants and providing basic plant care advice.
Operating and maintaining nursery equipment, such as watering systems, wheelbarrows, and hand tools.
Monitoring plant health, identifying pests and diseases, and reporting any issues to supervisors.
Assisting in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies.
Following safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a plant nursery, farm, or landscaping is preferred but not required.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 LBS
Basic knowledge of plant care, horticulture, and landscaping techniques is a plus.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, if necessary.
