Role Summary:
The Weekend Manager is responsible for maintaining the identity and standards of Saturn Road’s coffee and bar programs throughout our prime weekend business hours.
This isn’t just a management role - it’s a frontline, hands-on position for someone who thrives in the thick of weekend service. We need a proactive, steadfast presence who can shift seamlessly between bartender, barista, leader, events coordinator, and calm handler of the unexpected. The right person for this role can keep service moving at high volume, make guests feel seen and welcome, motivate and direct the team, and troubleshoot any friction with confidence and good judgment.
We’re looking for a weekend powerhouse. Someone who embodies hospitality and leadership in equal measure, keeps their cool under pressure, and sets the tone for Saturn Road when the energy is at its peak. This position reports directly to the Co-Owner and acting General Manager of Saturn Road, Chelsey Shockley.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operational Stewardship:
- Maintain recipes and standard operating procedures for all items we serve - ensuring consistency and excellence in every item served.
- Uphold rigorous cleanliness standards and ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines/regulations.
- Serve as a primary point person during shift, assigning side work and break coverage
- Keep service flowing by anticipating needs, clearing roadblocks, and jumping in to help wherever needed
- Communicate with clarity and positivity, especially during high-volume moments
- Monitor backstock and prep levels for coffee, bar, and food programs
- Flag low inventory and supply issues to program leads in stock channel with any actionable details
Curation & Vibe Creation:
- Play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for patrons, curating a vibe that aligns with Saturn Road’s blend of charm, creativity, and community focus.
- Collaborate with leadership on decor, lighting, and music choices to enhance the guest experience.
- Lead by example during shifts, providing support during peak times and ensuring seamless operations.
- De-escalate customer concerns with warmth, common sense, and discretion
- Maintain a calm, grounded presence even in fast-paced or unpredictable moments
Compensation
- This is an hourly, part-time position. Hourly rate will range from $24-$28/hr depending on experience and expertise
- This position requires a commitment of regular afternoon and evening hours primarily throughout weekends (Thursday - Sunday)

- This position is eligible to participate in Saturn Road’s Events and Programming bonus programs
Events & Reservations
- Serve as the point person for private events, large reservations, and other events as needed.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure the space is prepped and service runs smoothly throughout the event.
- Communicate event details (guest count, timing, any special requests) to staff at the start of their shift.
- Act as liaison between guests and ownership during events as needed, addressing any needs or issues with professionalism, warmth, and care.
