Silver Rice, a Japanese-owned fast-casual sushi restaurant in Brooklyn is looking for a staff who can work as shift leader. Since 2014, Silver Rice has brought their classic meets new take on sushi to the neighborhoods of Crown Heights and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. The menu showcases our spin on traditional sushi rolls, chirashi bowls and fresh salads, offered alongside a carefully selected line of imported Japanese beer and sake. With quality ingredients, unique flavors and speedy service, Silver Rice has quickly become a popular neighborhood spot. We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable of the food industry to grow with us and be a part of our team!
Description
The position requires to work for both Saturday and Sunday dinner shifts (and possibly 1 more weekday dinner shift). First, you will be trained to master regular FOH tasks. When you become Shift Leader, you will have to monitor all areas of the restaurant during opening, operation, and closing hours, including some aspects of the BOH staff. Silver Rice is a relatively small space with typically smaller staff count. This position requires multiple responsibilities, such as: proficient and efficient cleaning, restocking supplies and organize storage areas, organize kitchen tickets according to time, instruct FOH and lead them in right direction, adjust pick-up and delivery times on all apps according to the volume of orders, calculate sales at the end of every shift, aid situations where customers have concerns or issues, support your coworkers as best as you can and be the best, positive example for your colleagues. We do not micromanage. This position is all hands on!
