To effectively direct and supervise all functions and activities of the Deli Department and its Associates to achieve the Department’s goals (i.e. sales, profit, customer experience and associate engagement) in accordance with our Purpose and Service Priorities under the direction of the General Manager.
Position is available in a Supermarket Gourmet Deli Department.
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
5+ years management experience needed.
Strong ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
Highly organized and dedicated with positive attitude.
Able to handle multiple assignments and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills as well as being Bilingual (English & Spanish).
Exceptional ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages. Remarkable ability to read a profit & amp; loss statement.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Exceptional ability to plan, organize, direct, control waste, coach subordinates, delegate responsibilities and follow-up on subordinates' training progress.
Schedule employees and delegate work assignments in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement when applicable, effectively utilizing employees and supplies to provide excellent customer service, and to maximize the store's profits.
Prepare, maintain, and track records concerning inventories and work processes to calculate gross monthly profit according to company policy.
Develop and implement merchandising plans using guidelines and suggestions in order to meet the financial objectives of the department.
Control department costs by monitoring and improving operations to increase profitability.
Must be available to work at less 5 days per week.
