Busy Italian restaurant in herald square in need of a sous chef.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious person in the culinary industry who is looking for the next step in their career. A line cook who is ready to become a sous chef, or a sous chef who is looking for a clear path to become an executive chef.

The restaurant is an approachable loveletter to Neapolitan cuisine. With multiple wood fired ovens, all handmade pasta, and simple honest Italian entrees. The chef takes pride in personally making all of the pasta by hand daily and is looking to pass his knowledge on to an up and coming chef.

This is a very active roll in a high volume Italian restaurant. In the position the person will be assisting a multi-unit executive chef in all aspects of restaurant operations. Fresh pasta and pizza making experience a plus but not a necessity.

This position requires but is not limited to, nyc food handlers certificate, full availability, and willingness to learn; pizza making, pasta making, wood fired oven cooking, butchering, bread making, inventory management, and cost of goods analysis.
