Salary Range: 16.50 per hour (DOE and state)
Gjelina restaurant in Noho on Bond St. is looking for experienced casual/upscale servers to join our team! This is a high-volume, high-energy restaurant with a great group of food and beverage professionals that breathe our culture. REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants should have 2 years of service experience in a high-volume/upscale environment
Have worked with a progressive wine program and passionate about small producers
Depth of knowledge in classic and craft cocktails
Understands the difference between being a leader vs an order-taker
Enjoys education and sharing
POSITION SUMMARY: The Server maintains the attitude and energy of bistro service while cultivating a fine dining experience with exceptional food and beverage knowledge. Passion for hospitality and food leads to their ability to navigate guest interaction and service with grace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
Clearly communicate with all service staff and management throughout your shift to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Prepare the floor for opening and closing of each shift; stocking, cleaning, and preparing.
Know our regulars and encourage new guests to become regulars by establishing a rapport that includes the guests' likes and dislikes.
Attend to guest needs throughout the dining room, course food orders, and send them through the POS.
Organize, clean, and maintain all server stations.
Run food, drinks, and bus tables in your section throughout service.
Complete all assigned side work pre- and post-shift.
Attending training and pre-shift meetings.
Responsible for in-depth knowledge of the cocktail menu and wine list, assisting guests with ingredient knowledge, pairings, etc.
Responsible for in-depth knowledge of the food menu, ingredients in each dish, vendors and farmers, etc.
Responsible for communicating all guest allergies with a manager.
