JOB STANDARDS
Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of The Flatiron Room Restaurants
Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, spirit selections
Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service and respond
promptly and courteously to correct any problems.
Take food or beverage orders from guests.
Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials and make recommendations
Explain our Bottle Keep System to guests
Prepare and present “Tasting Flight” to guests and relay facts about each bottle in flight
Climb ladders to access bottles on higher shelves.
Serve food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests and chill bottles of wine.
Check guests’ IDs to ensure that they meet the minimum age for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pour the wines for guests.
Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
Collect payments from guests.
Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
Roll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
Stock service areas with supplies. Prepare tables, including setting up items such as silverware and glassware.
Fill salt, pepper, sugar, condiment, and napkin containers.
Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
Assist fellow employees in meeting guests’ needs and supporting the operation of the restaurant.
Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
Willing to take the provided online courses for spirits and hospitality training
Periodic liquor educational training courses
Must demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to guest satisfaction.
Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
Must possess manual ability to use the hand-held TOAST Point-of-Sale
Must be able to lift to 50lbs and stand for long periods
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess the manual ability to use point-of-sale terminals, POS software, credit card processors
Have experience in hospitality and fine dining setting
Have or have access to a personal computer, tablet, smartphone to gain access to schedules and company-wide communications.
