Seeking a Chef de Cuisine to oversea all Kitchen operation at Kubeh. Immediate Hire.

Kubeh, is a restaurant in the West Village, that's one of a kind in NYC, celebrating authentic dishes from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Kurdistan and Israel. Kubeh has gotten wonderful praise by NY Magazine, Infatuation, Michelin Guide, NPR and much more. Our food is beautiful and clean. At 8 years old, and a newly renovated bar with new bar menu and bar program, we're upon exciting times as our business is growing and opportunities are growing. We need someone strong and ready to take us to the next level of growth. Work under Executive Chef Melanie Shurka to execute her menu and vision. If you're someone who likes to learn new dishes, create new dishes and enjoys the challenges for running and leading an efficient kitchen, this is the right position for you.

- Open Lunch, Brunch and Dinner.

- Middle Eastern Restaurant with a unique focus on regions less known.

- 75 seats and additional 24 seats in outdoor cafe.

Responsibilities include:

-Inventory Management

-Managing and training the BOH staff

-Working directly with Chef Melanie Shurka on R&D to create new dishes, seasonal menus and special holiday menus.

-Execution and collaboration on new exciting chef series

-Overseeing and growing catering and events portion of business

-Administrative duties (interviewing new candidates, onboarding new hires, creating weekly schedules, weekly food costing and labor costing)

-Managing and training prep and line cooks

-Overseeing Dishwasher and Porter Team's work and cleanliness of restaurant

Must be:

-Experienced managing high-volume restaurant kitchen operations

-Organized and proactive about creating systems

- Strong culinary skills, leadership and teaching skills

-Acumen in and ability to excel with overall financial aspects of business operation

-Hardworking

-Enthusiastic

-Team Player

-Creative

-A leader within a very busy kitchen environment

-Experienced in restaurant work! A great line cook & prep cook

-Knowledgeable in food safety/sanitation, Must have Food Handler's Certificate

-Able to keep a very clean work station

- Knowledge of Middle Eastern Cuisine is a plus

-Flexible availability

-Comfortable with computers, using excel and online platforms
