Seeking Barista - Greenpoint (Greenpoint, Brooklyn)
We are an upscale, locally owned cafe in beautiful Greenpoint serving our own single origin and Brooklyn roasted coffee, alongside a curated menu of food, beer and wine.
We're looking for team members with great personalities and positive energy. We are a small team and take pride in our craft. We are seeking Full-time and Part-Time Baristas to prepare and serve beverages, food items, and tend to daily prepwork and tasks. Our goal is to provide a positive environment for both our team and guests, creating a neighborhood friendly space. Knowledge of beer and wine is a plus.

Must:
Have excellent customer skills and provide above and beyond service.
Help create a positive and fun work environment.
Have knowledge of how brewing equipment and grinders operate.
Be able to work various shifts.
Passionate about coffee and take pride in your craft.
Have NYC Food Handlers certificate.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they enter
- Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
- Prepare beverages and food items following recipes. Consistency is key
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Keep the work station and all areas of the cafe clean and tidy
- Build rapport with regular customers
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work both alone and with a team
- Strictly follow all opening and closing procedures
- Maintain stock levels
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers
- Recommend ideas, new menu items and ways to make us better
Skills:
- Previous work experience as a Barista
- Latte art experience a plus
- Bartending experience a plus
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Excellent communication skills
- Square POS knowledge a plus
