Seeking Barista / Cook for Startup $25-30+ per hour & potential equity

New York, New york city 00000 New york city USA
Aplica ya

Hi, I'm looking for someone to join our startup team at Cilantro Club in Bushwick! We make affordable meals and beverages generally priced between 2-4 dollars under a subscription model.

The pay is 20 per hour + tip share which was over 13/hr last week but that does include the fact that I've been working personally as the owner lately and do not collect any of the tip share. Nevertheless, it has been increasing generally as we get more users and hopefully that trend continues.

I'm looking for someone who wants to be part of our team that is interested in trying to make our concept work and ideally sees themself as part of the business. I personally fund the project at the moment. If we are able to raise a Series A, I will offer early employee level equity to longstanding team members who have contributed to our business success outside of just filling the shift.

We are only hiring for one person right now- If I select your application we will do a 2 hour trial shift where you will either prepare drinks and/or food for myself and another team member.

Requirements for the position

Must have food handlers permit.

Must have experience as a barista OR line cook/chef from a reputable cafe/restaurant.

If you apply with a 1 minute video introducing yourself your application will be greatly prioritized.

Lastly please answer the two questions below as part of your application. There is no wrong/disqualifying answer here it is just for my reference to understand how you approach certain situations:

Question 1: When you are presented with a new task, how do you approach it?

A) Begin by creating a comprehensive plan, detailing all steps and resources needed before initiating any action.

B) Set immediate goals and start tackling the task to maintain momentum and make quick progress.

C) Discuss the task with colleagues to gather insights and different perspectives before starting.

D) Jump right in to get a feel for the task, adjusting the approach based on what seems most effective in the moment.

Question 2: How do you handle disagreements within your team?

A) Analyze the arguments of all sides to come up with a logical and fair resolution that is informed by all inputs.

B) Assert your viewpoint as a leader to guide the team towards a quick and practical resolution.

C) Encourage everyone to share their feelings and concerns, aiming to reach an agreement that satisfies all parties.

D) Propose a creative compromise that might introduce a new angle or solution to break the deadlock.
