Organic/Natural Kitchen in NYC Seeks Experienced Leader
We are a vibrant and growing organic/natural kitchen in the heart of Greenwich Village New York City, dedicated to serving healthy, sustainable meals to our community. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our kitchen.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise a team of cooks, prep support staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations
Develop and implement menus that showcase our commitment to organic and natural ingredients
Source high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and maintain relationships with suppliers
Oversee food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and healthy kitchen environment
Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and storage to minimize waste and optimize efficiency
Collaborate with our culinary team to create innovative and delicious dishes
Maintain a positive and inclusive kitchen culture that promotes teamwork and creativity
Hire, train, schedule and manage the kitchen/bakery staff
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a kitchen management role, preferably in an organic or natural kitchen setting
Proven track record of leading a high-performing kitchen team
Strong knowledge of organic and natural ingredients, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Familiarity with NYC health department regulations and food safety protocols
