We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation, a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and experience working in a fast-paced environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by preparing and presenting dishes according to our menu specifications.

This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently multi-tasking, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

Duties

Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation

Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.

Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including equipment and utensils.

Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes or specials.

Coordinate with the kitchen team to prioritize orders and ensure timely preparation and presentation of dishes to guests.

Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.

Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the culinary industry.

Experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in fine dining or high-volume settings.

Proficient in various cooking techniques, including knife skills, sautéing, grilling, and baking.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Familiarity with menu planning and dietary considerations for diverse clientele.

Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude and strong work ethic towards collaboration in the kitchen environment.

Has a willingness to learn, adapt, and grow.

Able to follow direction and multi-task with a sense of urgency

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Endurance to withstand long hours of standing, walking, and repetitive motions.

Lift and carry heavy objects, such as boxes of ingredients or pots/pans, weighing up to 50 pounds.

Coordination to handle kitchen equipment, knives, and utensils safely and effectively.

Flexibility to bend, stoop, reach, and perform tasks at various heights within the kitchen workspace.

Ability to work in close proximity to others and collaborate effectively with team members during service.

Adherence to proper lifting techniques and ergonomics to prevent strain or injury while performing job duties.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18-20 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
