Likkle More Jerk is located in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn at the Dekalb Market Hall. We are currently looking for a Part Time (Initially) Line Cook to join our kitchen team and help take us to the new heights we are aiming to achieve.

As a Line Cook you will work with a team that is driven by culinary excellence. We are looking for a dynamic team member with all the essential skills. We want an achiever who has a strong sense for operations and is driven by results.

Duties:

Report to the Owner and Manager and assist them in the aspects of running the kitchen.

Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.

Follow standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards. Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets

Clearly communicate and uphold culinary standards, roll out new projects/initiatives, and keep up with all DOH guidelines. Help adhere to cleanliness and organizing standards in the kitchen

Help maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas with the team

Assist the Owner and Manager in inventory of food and non-food supplies to stay within established guidelines while assuring that necessary product is available when needed

Help make decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products staying within Company guidelines for such products

Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures as evidenced through local health department and third-party audits

Follow facility, department, and company safety policies and procedures to include occurrence reporting

Participate and attend departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs, as appropriate

Complete reporting and documentation functions in order to provide consistent information and feedback to our leadership team

Help conduct Pre-shift meetings with the restaurant team to keep them informed on updates and new restaurant goals.

Requirements:

1 years minimum kitchen experience.

Culinary education preferred

High volume production and cooking experience is essential

Excellent communication skills and an organized approach to achieving team goals

A passion for real, good food and the leadership skills to help operate a scratched base, ever changing kitchen

An eye for detail

Your NYC Department of Health certification

Desire to learn and grow with a high quality kitchen and company

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
