Looking for dinner shift Tuesday thru Saturday, Sundays off.

Brand new Mediterranean fine dining concept in Downtown Stamford right on Bedford Street! High volume, great for someone who can work independently. Cocktail heavy, some wine and beer. Please be professional and positive with great customer service skills.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Line Cook who is ready to bring their culinary skills to the table and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. In this role, you’ll be responsible for cooking menu items to perfection while maintaining the high standards of quality and presentation that Bar Vera strives for. Additionally, you will assist with up keeping the prep work, ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked and organized throughout service. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to the menu, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation are always up to our high standards

Work the line during service, managing multiple stations and maintaining focus under pressure

Keep up with prep duties, including prepping ingredients, ensuring everything is ready for service and supporting the prep team

Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely food delivery

Maintain inventory levels for your stations and assist with restocking items as needed

Collaborate with the chef and kitchen team to suggest improvements to dishes, procedures, and processes

Help maintain the flow of kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner

Be proactive in identifying tasks that need attention and take initiative to support the kitchen team

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a line cook or in a high-volume kitchen is preferred

Strong understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen operations

Experience with Mediterranean cuisine is a plus, but not required—willingness to learn is key

Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to multitask and manage time effectively during busy service periods

Eagerness to work as part of a team and a desire to learn and grow in the culinary field

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
