Emily West Village is looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager/ Lead Line Cook to join our team! The Kitchen Manager/ Lead Line Cook is responsible for providing leadership to the back of house, ensuring impeccable dining experiences for our guests, and assisting the Head Chef with day to day operational tasks and projects.

Kitchen Manager/ Lead Line Cook Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Objectives:

Embrace the culture of Pizza Loves Emily and serve as model of such for the restaurant;

Proactively communicate with leadership;

Communicate and support company policies and decisions in a positive manner;

Support the development of all staff, including initial and ongoing training, coaching, guiding and managing the performance of the team;

Reinforce a strong level of professionalism on the kitchen team;

Cultivate a tight-knit community of staff members by creating an inviting and friendly workplace.

Make sure kitchen staff is 100% ready for shift once they are clocked in;

Reinforce a team environment in kitchen: build enthusiasm, accountability, and motivation;

Function as supervisor for all BOH personnel and affirm a “yes chef” expectation;

Purport emotional self-awareness under pressure;;

Communicate all staff issues directly with sous chef or general manager;

Ensure that prep tasks for the next day are being established in written format at end of shift;

Reinforce accountability system to make sure each team member completes all tasks for his station;

Complete nightly checklist and leave for opening chef to review;

Additional duties as assigned by management.

Dept. of Health Objectives:

Make sure restaurant is up to code;

Ensure that all staff members label items with cut tape, dated and initialled;

Reinforce strict walk-in organization policy and cleaning schedule;

Reinforce schedule for weekly deep cleaning of each station;

Support the sous chef in running mock inspections once per month to check cleanliness and code;

Food Preparation:

Maintain consistency in the taste and appearance of all dishes/pizza;

Reinforce food standards and guide employees to properly prepare all dishes.
