Our client is a prestigious corporate entity in Midtown, seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Assistant. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to be involved in a great corporate setting.
Salary: $50,000/year, eligible for overtime.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM
Responsibilities:
Wash, sanitize, and properly store all service ware placed in the dish bin.
Receive incoming deliveries either through the messenger center or curb side.
Properly steward all incoming food and beverage deliveries following FIFO procedures.
Maintain the organization of the executive kitchen, including all dry good and fridges. All raw items (poultry, eggs, etc) are to be stocked on the bottom shelves of the fridge, while ready-to-eat foods must be stored on upper shelves.
Ensure dish washing station always has soap and cleaning materials are stocked (sponges, gloves, etc). Additionally, restock hand soap at all other kitchen sinks.
Ensure all dining ware is handled with care, cleaned, and properly returned to assigned areas.
Assist the Dining Coordinator in polishing and stocking flatware and glassware.
Sweep the Executive Kitchen daily after each lunch service. Additional sweeping and mopping to be performed as needed throughout the day.
Wipe down work services throughout the day to ensure that all food prep areas are kept sanitized.
Wipe down and sanitize inside the fridges and ice machine on a weekly basis.
Deep clean the ice machine two times per month. Steps include, 1. Turning the machine off. 2. Scooping out all of the remaining ice. 3. Disinfect with cleaning solution.
Maintain inventory of towels, linens, and microfibers. Fold, store, and distribute as needed.
Maintain inventory of ry storage and chemical closet (noting quantities of items, consolidating, etc.)
Assist Executive Chef and Sous Chef with light food prep such as peeling, washing, and chopping produce. As well as weighing cookie dough for C-Sweet operations.
Assist Executive Chef with C-Sweet cookie deliveries to Summit and La Terrace.
Responsible for collecting and storing compost as well as maintaining and sanitizing compost buckets.
Track and execute quarterly maintenance for dish washing unit using de-limer.
Assist Dining Coordinator with light beverage orders, such as juices and cold brew.
Perform all other related duties as requested by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
Required Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in a similar role. Previous experience in a corporate environment is preferred.
Professional and enthusiastic team player. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of SLG Management/Staff. Polished, poised demeanor and focus on cleanliness.
