A barback's job is to support the bar staff and ensure that the bar runs smoothly by keeping the bartenders stocked and the service area clean:
Stocking: Barbacks restock liquor, beer, spirits, garnishes, napkins, straws, and other supplies
Cleaning: Barbacks clean the bar counter, wash dishes, and polish glassware
Helping customers: Barbacks assist customers with questions, requests, and concerns
Opening and closing: Barbacks may help open and close the bar, including operating cash registers and taking out the trash
Other duties: Barbacks may also help with taking and fulfilling orders, replacing empty kegs, and organizing supplies
