Busy Hell's Kitchen wine bar is seeking a part-time host for 2-3 shifts per week as well as a runner for 2 shifts. For the hosts, we are seeking candidates with the ability to manage and maximize seating with a mixture of reservations & walk-ins in a limited space. Candidates must also have a natural ability to make our guests feel welcome. You are the first contact our guest has and your number one responsibility is to make guests feel taken care of.
Host Responsibilities also include assisting floor staff with table clearing & turn-over as needed, as well as light side-work such as refreshing printed menus & check presenter materials.
Host Requirements:
A professional, personable and friendly demeanor
Ability to multi-task and stay calm in a high-pressure environment
Experience with Resy is a plus
RUNNER/BUSSER
Candidates must be willing to learn all dishes and cheeses on the menu and be prepared to explain and announce the food as it is placed down with the guest. The runner is also responsible for supporting the service team by providing water to tables, clearing and resetting tables, polishing glassware, supporting the bartender (getting ice, fruit, etc.) and other duties as needed. Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude and willingness to pitch in and take initiative. Every member of the service team is expected and encouraged to interact with guests and provide a welcoming environment. Students with flexible schedules are also encouraged to apply.
HOST REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to learn the full details of our food menu including all cheeses & meats.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced (yet super fun and positive) environment
A friendly and engaging personality with the ability to be casual while maintaining professional procedures.
Minimum 1 year experience preferred
