Inga's Bar is looking for an experienced Host to join our team! We are a small, very busy Brooklyn Heights restaurant with a focus on simple, thoughtfully executed seasonal food. We strive for professionalism and attention to detail within a framework of authentic, straightforward hospitality. We are looking for a FOH pro with at least 3 years NYC experience in fast-paced environments. Focus, positivity, and teamwork are essential.

Weekend brunch availability is a must.

We are looking for someone who excels at giving genuine hospitality in a fast-paced dining room. Deep knowledge of Resy and experience in a fast paced environment is a prerequisite for consideration. Empathetic communication and positivity in coworker and guest interactions is essential to our style of hospitality.

Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

Contributing to the smooth running of the dining room via thoughtful reservation plotting and adjustments in Resy

Connecting to guests via authentic and charismatic interactions

Confidently and capably acting as the liaison between our guests and our kitchen

Communicating with the team to ensure smooth and efficient service

Helping to create a welcoming and genuinely positive atmosphere for our guests

In addition to these specific skills, all FOH team members are expected to help maintain the overall safety and cleanliness of the restaurant. All FOH team members get an equal point in the tip pool so balanced effort from all members of the team is expected. All employees are expected to show up on time and ready to work for their scheduled shifts and adhere to our shift coverage / call out requirements in the event they are unable to work a shift.

What You Bring:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a host in a fast-paced NYC restaurant

A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality

Excellent food and natural wine knowledge

Flexible work schedule: the ability to work nights, weekend brunches, and holidays

The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 50lbs

Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time

Compensation: Hourly rate dependent on experience plus tips
