Hiring Chef de Cuisine

A Japanese neighborhood restaurant located in the heart of Greenpoint, Brooklyn is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef de Cuisine. Our hospitality group is quickly expanding and the right candidate will have the opportunity to become the Executive Chef for two locations.

Requirements but not limited to:

- Available to work lunch and dinner shifts, Weekends and Holidays

- Food handlers license is a must

- Demonstrate a passion for food while teaching and leading a team; bilingual is a plus

- Management and training of kitchen staff

- Supervising the cleanliness, sanitation standards and organization of the kitchen

- Quality control and maintaining high standards

- Must be able to lead by example and cook professionally

- Daily Production

- Daily Ordering

- Expediting Service

- Supporting the Line as necessary

- Menu development, scheduling, inventory, purchasing, food and labor costs

- Has the ability to problem solve an issue and prevent issues from happening

- Lead the staff in following the standards for food handling

- Maintains proper storage, labeling, dating, and control of waste

- Supervises the proper maintenance of equipment, kitchen and pantry areas

- Maintains good sanitation and safety practices, including personal hygiene

- Monitor the kitchen being fully cleaned daily

Compensation and benefits is based on experience.
