As our Head Chef, you will oversee menu management & development, team management, kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and culinary excellence.
What We’re Looking For:
-Proven experience as an Head Chef in a high quality Italian restaurant with a minimum of 5 years in this role
-Expertise in Italian cuisine
-NYC health dept. food safety certificate
-A leadership style that fosters collaboration, creativity, and high standards
-Strong understanding of kitchen management, food safety, and inventory control
-A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences to every guest
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
Estimate food requirements and food costs
Inventory management/ordering
Supervise kitchen staff's activities
Direct daily/weekly cleaning of all stations
Arrange for equipment repairs
Manage kitchen staff & hire when/where necessary
Rectify arising problems or complaints
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers’
Requirements
Proven working experience as a head chef / 5 years of experience
Excellent record of kitchen management
Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
Capable of delegating multiple tasks
Communication and leadership skills
Serv-safe certified
Perform menu costing and inventory analysis / control in Excel formatting.
BS degree in culinary science or, related certificate or, equivalent working experiences.
MUST HAVE A HEALTH DEPARTMENT QUALIFYING CERTIFICATE IN FOOD PROTECTION
