LiTTLE GREEN GOURMETS is looking for an experienced cook with great attention to detail to cook, prepare and package meals. We are looking for an experienced cook to work in our commissary kitchen directly under the Sous Chef. Primary responsibilities will include operating large tilt skillets and cooking large batches of proteins, sauces, and sides.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cook, portion and package meals for morning distribution
Accurately weigh and prep recipes for large scale production
Operate large industrial cooking equipment
Large batches of Sauces, Pasta, Rice, Vegetables, Proteins
Assist with any necessary tasks needed to get the job done!
Solve any problems that arise under pressure
QUALIFICATIONS
Commissary or Large Volume Catering Cooking Experience
Ability to read & follow recipes accurately
Good food safety practices, NYC food handlers license a plus
Ability to speak Spanish and English a plus
Organized and able to multitask
Reliable, function well within a team and work calmly and efficiently in a fast moving environment.
Quality minded with great attention to detail
Able to work variable hours, including occasional holidays
WORK AUTHORIZATION in USA
WORK CONDITIONS:
Morning / daytime hours, Sunday - Thursday (1pm-9pm), additional hours as needed
Able to work in hot commercial kitchen in the summer
May be required to work holidays.
May be required to work 10+ hour shifts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Constant standing/walking for 8+ hours at a time.
Must be able to lift, pull, push, and carry 50lbs.
Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine.
Constant receiving detailed information through oral & written communication.
